Write Worth Bid Policy
Connecting Writers with Opportunities. Helping Great Stories Find the Right Buyers.
Write Worth offers two independent bidding systems designed to create more opportunities for both writers and producers while maintaining a fair, transparent, and competitive marketplace.
By participating in either bidding system, you agree to this Bid Policy and our Terms of Service.
1. Writer Job Bidding
Producers and production companies may post writing opportunities on Write Worth.
Eligible writers can submit bids to express their interest in completing the project.
A writer's bid may include:
Proposed fee
Delivery timeline
Relevant experience
Cover message or proposal
Portfolio or writing samples (where applicable)
The producer has complete discretion to:
Review all submitted bids.
Contact shortlisted writers.
Negotiate project terms.
Accept or reject any proposal.
Close the job without selecting a writer.
Submitting a bid does not guarantee selection.
2. Screenplay Marketplace Bidding
Write Worth's screenplay marketplace uses a unique bidding system that encourages fair market pricing while giving buyers equal purchasing opportunities.
How It Works
When multiple buyers bid on the same screenplay:
Buyers may submit offers above the current bid.
The highest bid at any given time becomes the Current Purchase Price for that screenplay.
The Current Purchase Price is visible to eligible buyers.
The screenplay remains available for purchase at that Current Purchase Price unless the writer closes the listing or the screenplay is sold under different agreed terms.
Unlike a traditional auction, the highest bidder does not automatically win exclusive rights to the screenplay.
Instead, the highest bid establishes the purchase price that any interested buyer may choose to pay.
Purchase at the Current Price
Once a screenplay reaches a Current Purchase Price:
Any eligible buyer may purchase the screenplay by paying the Current Purchase Price.
Purchase availability remains subject to the screenplay still being listed on Write Worth.
If multiple buyers intend to purchase at the same time, transactions will be processed in the order they are successfully completed through the platform.
Writer Rights
Writers remain in control of their listings.
Writers may:
Accept market interest through the bidding system.
Remove or unlist a screenplay.
Pause bidding.
Update screenplay information.
Choose whether to keep the screenplay available for additional buyers, where permitted by the selected licensing or sales model.
Write Worth does not require writers to accept any particular bid.
Buyer Responsibilities
All buyers are expected to bid responsibly.
By placing a bid, buyers confirm that:
Their bid reflects a genuine intention to purchase.
They have the financial ability to complete the transaction.
They understand that placing the highest bid establishes the marketplace purchase price and does not reserve or guarantee exclusive ownership.
Fair Bidding Rules
To ensure a trusted marketplace, users must not:
Submit fake or misleading bids.
Artificially inflate screenplay prices.
Use multiple accounts to manipulate bidding.
Harass or intimidate other users.
Circumvent the Write Worth platform to avoid applicable service fees after initiating negotiations.
Violations may result in suspension or permanent removal from the platform.
Payments & Ownership
Purchasing a screenplay through Write Worth does not automatically transfer copyright ownership.
Ownership or licensing rights transfer only after:
Payment has been successfully completed.
Any required contracts have been executed.
The parties have agreed to the applicable licensing or assignment terms.
Disputes
Write Worth may review platform records, bidding history, transaction logs, and communications to assist in resolving disputes.
We reserve the right to suspend transactions while investigations are ongoing.
Governing Law
This Bid Policy forms part of the Write Worth Terms of Service and is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
